"Your family is who you choose to hold in your heart... not necessarily those who share your bloodlines." - Chicken soup for the single parent

Ever since we decided to relocate to another country, we are not as happy as we could have if we could spent Christmas and New Year and other special occasion with our family. But we learn to adapt. And we found "new families" in our new place. They would invite us over for Noche Buena and any other parties or celebrations. And though they are not blood relatives, they are still family to us!

I cannot understand why my colleague would want to buy and live in a motor home. She said that her motor home only costs $10,000 and has 2 bedroom and a huge yard. And on top of that, she needs to rent the space where she park her motor home. But that's all that she could afford and she lives by herself anyway.

Interestingly, there is also such a thing as a motorhome towing service! And she got this coverage just in case.

Back in the Philippines, it is easy to book a vacation package to the beach, popular choices are either Boracay or Palawan. But in North America, that is a much harder choice since there's just way too many places to choose from.

A friend of mine just recently booked on an all inclusive resorts in Cancun. Even with 3 small children, ages 6, 3 and barely 4 months old baby, they are still willing to travel!

My husband on the other hand, prefers to go to Cuba. What would you recommend?

Nobody can predict their future... one day you are here, healthy and strong, employed and happy... the next you could be gone, broke, or lose your job and health...

I've always wanted to go to Europe and see Eiffel Tower and Leaning Tower of Pisa. I am just not sure if my kids will enjoy this type of sightseeing at their age. They might find it boring and un-entertaining.

I know that they would love to go on another Orlando vacations like we did in 2004 and early this year. Oh well, maybe I'll go to Europe with some friends or with my husband. Or I will just have to wait a couple more years before my husband and I start traveling alone.

It is always good to have a very reliable insurance coverage. Getting sick or being in a car accident just costs way too much for one family to handle. That is why I am thankful to be part of this medical assistance program. Good Sam Emergency Assistance will bring your love ones to your bedside if and when you get sick across the state, across the country, or across the world! And they likewise covers return home expenses for your unattended dependent children or grandchildren. Now, isn't this a good deal?

My working schedule isn't my ideal one. I hate waking up in the wee hours like between 3 to 4am just to get ready and head to work. My sleeping cycle is ruined. I don't get enough sleep and work is likewise becoming stressful at times. I noticed that I have dark circles [or eyebugs] under my eyes already. And this is not good at all.

My first temp job while I was still in the University was the assistant of the office assistant. And my job description includes writing invoices, answering phone calls, taking stock inventory and purchasing office supply.

Back in the '90s, people still prefer to order things the old ways, meaning picking up a piece of paper and pencil and write down the supplies we needed. Then either mail it or fax it to the supplier and wait for it's delivery.

Now, everything can be ordered online and no paper works are needed anymore.

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" was his response. "
I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Choice. It could make or break us. I pride myself in making my own choices and following my heart desires. And because of this, conflict arises between me and my parents or brothers or sisters. But then, if I made a wrong choice, there's no one else to blame but me. And I learn from that and hopefully don't make the same mistake twice.
The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice. ~ by George Eliot

Do you find it hard to find the perfect gift for a love ones or a relative or a friend who got everything? or who are more financially stable than you are? I do! And this year, I'm trying something different.

I actually got this idea from one of my daughter's friend's mom. When my daughter was invited to her daughter's birthday party, it was stated in the invitation that "no gifts are necessary, instead just make a donation to your favorite charity on their behalf." So this Christmas, I thought of getting holiday gifts in the form of charity.

I've been wanting to get rid of our 2 old desktop computer. And I told my husband that maybe we should just get a small and cheap laptop for the kids to use. They are given school works that require the use of a computer and internet. My husband suggested that we should just get those refurbished laptop. It's cheaper and we could afford to buy two so that my kids will not fight over who gets to use it first. We agreed to get one in the meantime and see if it is reliable enough.

When the barcode scanner started to exists, I remember that I was given the assignment to make sure that the barcodes in all the credit card application was working properly. I had to choose and try out different scanner to make sure we were getting the best one. Those were the days when barcodes are only used at supermarkets or retail stores. Now, POS systems is a must for all businesses. It ease up the process and tracking, definitely very reliable.

I didn't really took good care of my teeth when I was young. I was already in High School or probably in College when I started to go to the dentist on a regular basis. So my teeth aren't as white as I would want them to be.

I have a colleague who is younger than I am, yet, his teeth are turning black and crooked. He rarely smile nor show his teeth to anyone. I was telling him that maybe he should consider something like Orange NJ dental implants. I believe that our insurance will cover some of the major dental work. But he doesn't want to.

Our fridge's water filter took almost a year to change because we just couldn't turn the filter, it was tightly sealed. I have to have a technician to come and open it for us.

I know that we should change the filters at least once every 6 months to have fresh and clean water. So how often do you change your filters? Whether it be air filter, water filters, pool filters, or spa filters, remember that it needs to be changed on a regular basis.

"I seek constantly to improve my manners and graces, for they are the sugar to which all are attracted." ~ by Og Mandino

I believe that the way I discipline and teach [table] manners to both my kids were the same from the time they were toddlers. Yet, my son seem to have more bad manners than his younger sister. I don't know where I went wrong. And I don't know how else to make him understand the importance of good manners in our house and especially in other people's house.

His ADHD didn't help at all... but since I took him off medication this school year, I also see some improvements on his behavior. And these are positive changes and he is getting more responsible. I get less frustrated too. Getting him off his meds is definitely a good decision on my part. I just wish that I could erase all his bad manners and re-start all over again. Help!

Yes. Obviously that can be done and achieved.

My aunt recently just became a Registered Nurse. But before she became one, it took her week after week of studying. And in the process of studying and trying to keep awake, she's been eating junk food and chocolates in between. She gained almost 20 lbs during those weeks. Now that she pass the exam, she's been taking this fat burners and have lost all the weight that she gained during the review and some more.
