I was always amazed at the families who travels and wear the same shirts together. Some would wear the same commercial shirts, but there are some who have it custom made. It does give a statement!

Last Christmas, one family mentioned that they got their "logo apparel" at WaterMarkGraphics.com. They made it for Christmas and send it as a Christmas gifts to their extended family members! And on the day of their family reunion, everybody was asked to wear it! Amazingly, everybody did. Family and group pictures were taken during the reunion. They showed me the pictures and it was really good.

"Life is short, break the rules, forgive sooner, love with true love, laugh without control and always keep smiling. Maybe life is not the party that we were expecting, but in the mean time, we're here and we can still dance....."

I should really make it a habit to read the Bible... so that I could encourage my kids to do the same. I know that "being busy" is not an excuse. But it's just a habit I can't get into doing.

Have you seen the movie "RV" starring Robin Williams? I loved that movie. Makes me want to buy or rent an RV for one summer and just drive across North America. It's a good thing my family loves road trip. So if and when we decide to do this, it won't be a problem.

A friend of mine recently decided to sell motorhome and he said that as an employee they can get a motorhome at manufacturer's price. That's one way to get the cheapest of the best in the market.

My son is really turning into a teenager. He got a big pimple on his forehead right now. And he's got a very sensitive skin and uses Cetaphil moisturizers on his face frequently. He actually have to bring his Cetaphil to school every day in case he needs it. I just hope that he would not have to go through any acne treatment during his teenage life. I didn't have this problem, and I just hope he didn't have to either.

We went on a picnic last weekend with some friends. And one couple that we haven't seen for a long time showed up at our picnic. It is always good to see some old familiar faces but her initial reaction upon seeing me is that "you've gain weight, are you pregnant?" Ouch! I think it's time to lose belly fat so that nobody can mistake me for being pregnant.

"One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn't pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself."

"Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world."

From Gratitude Journal...

  1. For my Nikon D90... you just can't put a price on pictures that tells a thousand words.
  2. For cellphones, now I know where my son is while he is on the road.... he now commutes to school everyday.
  3. For friends who stood by me when things go wrong at work.
  4. For being one of the few people who got invited at work to attend a co-worker's wedding.
  5. And for the little blessings that comes my way, everyday. Thank you God.

then YOU sure AS hell DON'T deserve ME at MY BEST"

This summer, I decided to stay home with the kids. And I started training them with house chores and gave them each their own responsibilities. I notice that my son has mature during the summer. And he was off Ritalin too.

School started last week [Aug 27] and I decided to stop his medication. I wanted to see if he could be responsible enough to do his school work without Ritalin.

I hope and pray that he does.... Wish me luck!

Other than my bedroom, I spent a lot of my time in the kitchen. Preparing food for breakfast, lunch and dinner isn't easy at all. And after cooking, it's washing time. And then it starts all over again.

This is why when we bought our house, the kitchen has the most upgrades. I wanted a huge counter top, all granite, and an island in the middle with a raised bar. And of course, I got the double bowl stainless steel kitchen sinks with vegetable sprayer. Sad to say they don't have enough space to give me a pantry. Oh well, I can't have it all.

I never ever get those additional insurance that airlines offer when you travel. I find them expensive and possibly a waste of money. I do have personal coverage at my employer and my husband's.

But a friend bought the medical travel on her recent trip back home. Her company only covers 80% so she decided to get another coverage so that it will be 100%. Sad to say, she had a stroke back home and because of her double coverage, they were able to fly her back here for medical treatment.

So the next time we travel, we will definitely get those medical travel insurance for a peace of mind. You'll just never know.
