I used to believe that "absence makes the heart go fonder" but since I've been in a long distance relationship that didn't last, I don't believe in it anymore.
I believe that people in love needs to be with each other for the relationship to grow and mature and to keep the love alive. And yet, still have the freedom to do things individually so as not to suffocate one another.
Since my husband is the bread winner, I always tell him that "I will go/move to where ever he decides to go/move"... with the condition that "there should be a Wal-mart nearby." ",)

From Gratitude Journal...
- Hubby's birthday party last night was a success. Too bad I had one dish that got spoiled. What a waste.
- My son's graduation from Grade 6 today! The lunch was a success and he did pretty good in his class. Even though Monday is officially the last day of school.
- For rapidshare where I download movies for free instead of spending money to watch them in the big screen. Home, sweet home!
- For friends who remembered and extended their well wishes to hubby.
- For my very reliable Nikon. Photographs are the best way to preserve good memories.
For all Twilight and Buffy fans out there... please check this out! You're gonna love it!
I just had a party last night with a few friends from work. It was tiring but a success.
Some of them were browsing through my Orlando pictures taken last October 2004 and February 2009 and it got them excited to plan for their own trip. So I just told them to look for deals on Orlando vacations and they could be on their way!
I love Liquidation centers. You just get a lot of good deals on different products there. I usually buy my Christmas gifts at liquidation centers. Each week they have different new merchandise.
My friend is planning to open a convenient store and he is looking to buy his merchandise on wholesale and he is currently negotiating with a liquidation center nearby.
Summer is here and it means its BBQ and picnic season once again. Too bad we had to get rid of our charcoal grill when we moved last December since the condo only allows natural gas BBQ grill. And as of today, we haven't bought one yet. Just waiting for the summer sale before buying one.
Now, that BBQ season is here, it is time to get some appetite suppressant pills to control our eating and avoid gaining weight!
My friend back in Toronto is very good at growing plants. Her house is full of different types of plants and flowers. I don't have a green thumb and all that could survive in my hands are the chinese bamboo tree.
Now that we have our own home, I am planning to be one of the many planters out there. I just hope the plants won't die on me. Any tips for me?
Is anybody in your family diagnose with Mesothelioma? This is a very rare disease and a form of cancer. And medical treatment can be very expensive. But you might be able to bring a legal claim against the manufacturers, sellers, and installers of asbestos products.
You might want to seek the help of specialized Mesothelioma lawyers who can protect your rights.
I just finished watching "The Confessions of a Shopaholic" and I loved it. Gone were the days when one needs to have cash with them all the time. These days, one just have to have that plastic card and swipe it away.
I hated it when I go to a store and all they accepts is cash. They should go and check out Total Merchant Services and create an account with them so that people can walk in and out of their store with no hassles.
Summer is here and school is almost over. Now that I plan to stay home with the kids for the summer and only work twice a week, I need to start looking for things to do this summer time. One thing that my son is begging me is golf lessons! Ouch...
So I started browsing to check out the prices and came across this golf training aid reviews site. It is very informative indeed.
From Gratitude Journal...
- Today I was able to sleep-in and hubby took care of the kids this morning. Actually he normally took care of the kids every morning!
- I am thankful for pro-blogging. Extra income is always good!
- I am thankful for friends, who are always there when I needed them.
- I feel sorry for a lot of my co-workers that were suspended and eventually terminated. I am just glad that I am not one of them. Truly grateful that I still have a job, even though its only part-time.
- I am thankful for the approval of my application with EI.
I hope to do this at least once a month! Or as often as I could. I know we should be thankful for each little blessings that may come our way, every single day.
Our car and home insurance is coming up for a renewal, and though my husband do get an employee discount with an insurance company, I still shop around for the best car and home insurance quote at least 2 months before it expires. We might have to pay a little higher in premium this year because of my little accident last December. I just hope it won't be too high up.
Mesothelioma. A rare form of cancer that develops in the mesothelial cells. These cells are tissue that surround or line the lungs, heart, and stomach. The mesothelial cells protect these organs by producing a lubricating fluid that allows these organs to move smoothly. That's the diagnosis for my new neighbor. I believe he is in his 60s. He was already in the advanced stages of the mesothelioma cancer and they only found out about it a week ago. His family can only hope for a full recovery. Please pray for him and his family.
"An automated external defibrillator or AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation, the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm."
I keep seeing this small box on walls around the airport, and honestly, until today, I didn't know what it was for. It is a life saving electronic device.

Have you ever splurged on something that was not really worth it? If yes, what item?
No. I always analyze before purchasing.
Is there any kikay item or any gadget that you are currently saving up for, care to share?
Yes, trip to Europe!
Are you the type who goes to the mall, and can never leave empty-handed?
No. I could go in and out without buying anything. But then, I normally go to the mall ONLY when I needed something.

This has always been MY golden rule. It is free to dream and to dream big is not bad at all. Set a [realistic] goal that can be accomplish in the few months/years to come.
But to live beyond what you can afford is definitely not in my vocabulary. My self control is really good when it comes to this. And though I envy people who have more than what I have, who can afford fine dining and designer clothes, I am quite content with what I have. If I can't afford it, I just can't afford it, end of discussion.
And for things that I really, really want but don't really need [like my DSLR and laptop], I will try to save money for that item/s and once I have the money aside, that's the only time I will buy it. Never will I use my credit card for something that I don't really need or for something that can wait a few weeks or months.
Case number 1:
Married couple. Husband makes $90K and the wife makes $48K. No kids. That's a total annual income of $138K! I could live very comfortably with that kind of an income. But somehow, these couple recently filed for bankruptcy.
Case number 2:
A single guy whose earnings averages $60K to $120K per annum in the last 5 years had his home recently foreclosed by the bank due to non-payment. Home amortization here can be as low as $1000+/month only, that's $12,000+ in one year, 20% of his lowest income.
Case number 3:
A newly married couple who already owns a 3-bedroom condo-townhouse decided to sell it when the market is really down in order to purchase a $580K single detached house that is twice as big as their condo. This is okay, if they can afford it. But since I know their financial situation and their income, I know it will be hard for them to make the monthly amortization for this new home. And since the wife is having a hard pregnancy, she already missed a lot of days at work [which also means less income]. I would definitely not want to start a family with debts beyond my head.
Our recent trip to Vegas last May is just way too short. I didn't have enough time to really plan for it. I booked my ticket 6 days before the trip. I didn't get to shop for discounted airfare either.
We only had 1 night in Vegas and it is just not enough. Hubby and I decided that we would go back there sometime in the near future and we will definitely book those Vegas vacations available online.
If I will be lucky enough to win the lottery, first that I will do is make a substantial donation to a couple of charity/organizations that I am supporting.
Then I will make sure both my kids have enough college/university funds for any course that they may choose.
Next, we will definitely take a tour to Europe, and I would invite some family members to join us. The more the merrier.
If I won a much bigger pot in excess of the above, I will pay off our cars and mortgage. Then the rest is savings!
I don't see myself resigning from work. Work is healthy. I don't see myself buying a bigger house either. I just don't like the idea of cleaning, gardening, shoveling snow, or mowing lawns. I may buy new properties and make them into a "bed and breakfast" as a business.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
